I bought this pair of 2.5 lb fractional plates from Micro Gainz for micro-loading. The alloy steel construction feels sturdy, and the 2.5 lb each (5 lb pair) is great for incremental progress. However, the price is steep at $173.21 — that's a lot for two small plates. They are well-made, but I'm not convinced the cost is justified. If you need precise 2.5 lb jumps and have the budget, they work fine. Otherwise, consider cheaper alternatives. The black finish is plain but durable.
